Terms of Sale
Last updated: October 1, 2026
These are the terms for buying from Canada Coin Vault. We wrote them to be read, not skimmed past. Where a term protects us, we explain why. Where the law gives you rights, those rights come first, always.
Who you're buying from
Canada Coin Vault (a Canada Coin Chest Co.) is a Canadian numismatic and precious-metals dealer based in Vaudreuil-Dorion, Québec, Canada. We sell on this website and on eBay as Canada Coin Chest. It's the same business, the same people and the same standards.
You can reach us at hello@canadacoinvault.com, or by phone at 514-709-COIN (2646). A real person reads every message.
What you're buying: a real, moving market
Our pieces are precious-metal coins, sets and collectibles. Their value follows global silver and gold markets and collector demand, and it changes around the clock.
- Your price is locked when you order. Once your order is placed, the price you saw is the price you pay, whether the market moves up or down afterward.
- Why you buy is yours to decide. Some people collect, some invest, some give gifts. All of those are welcome, and none of them changes the sale. We describe each piece accurately. We don't give investment, tax or financial advice, and we can't promise future value, resale price or collector premium. Please take the time you need to be comfortable with your purchase. We're happy to answer any question before you buy.
- Mintage and specifications come from the issuing mint's published figures. Metal content is as stated by the mint.
Prices and what you pay
- All prices are in Canadian dollars. US buyers see the exact US-dollar amount at checkout, converted at the Bank of Canada's rate for that day. Before you confirm, checkout shows every charge line by line: the item, any optional Vault Concierge, shipping and any applicable tax. The total you see is the total you pay.
- Our website prices are lower than the same pieces on eBay because we don't pay marketplace fees here. We pass that saving to you.
- If a price is ever shown in obvious error, such as a missing digit, we'll contact you before anything ships. You can proceed at the correct price, or cancel for a full refund. It's your choice, and there's no pressure either way.
Orders, payment and reservations
- Interac e-Transfer: when you place your order, the piece is reserved in your name for 48 hours. Send the e-Transfer with your order number as the message and we ship once it lands. If your bank's limit is lower than your total, tell us and we'll extend the hold.
- Wise, for US buyers: pay the US-dollar amount shown on your order through our secure Wise payment link, with your order number as the reference. The piece is held for 48 hours, and we ship once the payment lands.
- Card (when available) is processed by Stripe on its secure page. We never see or store your card number.
- If payment doesn't arrive within the hold period, the reservation simply lapses. Nothing is owed and the piece goes back on the shelf.
- We send you a written confirmation by email with every detail of your order. Keep it: it's your copy of our agreement.
- Large orders. For orders of C$10,000.00 or more, or where we're required to by Canadian anti-money-laundering rules for precious-metals dealers, we may ask for identification before shipping. This protects you as much as it protects us.
- To protect every customer, we may verify an order or decline one that shows signs of fraud. If we decline, you're refunded in full right away.
Shipping and delivery
Shipping is free, tracked and insured anywhere in Canada and the United States. Orders ship within one business day of payment, and a signature is required over C$500.00. If a parcel is lost or arrives damaged, we deal with the carrier, not you, and you receive a replacement or a full refund. If we can't deliver within 30 days, you may cancel for a full refund. Full details are on our Shipping page.
Returns and refunds
You have 30 days from delivery to return a piece for a refund of what you paid for it. We ask that it comes back exactly as it left us. Every coin we sell will one day belong to someone else too, so we inspect each return with care. The full, friendly version is on our Returns & refunds page, and it forms part of these terms.
Vault Concierge (optional)
Everyone receives a same-day reply and our full care at no cost. Vault Concierge is an optional C$9.99 per-order add-on for when you want it right now. Your order is packed and shipped the same business day if paid before 2 p.m. ET, and anything about it is answered within the hour during business hours. If we miss that promise, the fee is refunded automatically. More about how we work.
When something goes wrong
Whatever the problem is, whether a wrong item, damage, a delay or a question about authenticity, write to hello@canadacoinvault.com with your order number. We answer the same day and work until it's resolved. You can always count on our return policy, the carrier insurance and, above all, our own willingness to put things right.
Your rights under the law
Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have as a consumer, including the legal warranty of quality and the protections for distance contracts under Québec's Consumer Protection Act and the consumer laws of your own province. If anything here ever seems to conflict with those rights, the law wins, and so do you.
These terms are governed by the laws of Québec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
Vault Credit (loyalty)
- Earning. Signed-in customers earn Vault Credit equal to 2.5% of the price of the coins in each order (2.5 cents per dollar), added when payment is received. Credit isn't earned on shipping, Vault Concierge or taxes, or on any part of an order paid with Vault Credit.
- Spending. Credit becomes spendable once your balance reaches C$200.00. From then on, you choose at checkout whether to apply it to the coins in your order, and any balance left over stays in your account.
- Cancellations and refunds. If an order is cancelled or refunded, the credit it earned is removed, and any credit you used on it is returned to your balance.
- The fine print, kept short. Vault Credit is in Canadian dollars. It has no cash value, can't be transferred or sold, and is tied to your account. It doesn't expire while the program runs. If we ever end or change the program, we'll give at least 30 days' notice by email, and your unlocked balance will stay spendable throughout that notice period.
Accounts and giveaways
You don't need an account to buy. If you create one, you sign in with your email and a password, and you can choose to stay signed in on your own devices. Your password is stored only in encrypted (hashed) form. We confirm your email address before linking past orders to your account. You can sign out of every device at any time from your account. Each giveaway publishes its own rules alongside it, and those rules apply while it runs.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the business grows. The version in force when you placed your order is the one that applies to that order. The date at the top always shows the latest update.
