Designed by Darrel E. Kennedy, Assiniboine Herald, the reverse features the armorial bearings of the Black Loyalist Heritage Society. The shield displays three Loyalist civil coronets representing those who fled to the North, alongside a ship's wheel that symbolizes both the historic landings of 1783 and the ongoing development of the community. The Society’s motto, "The heart of your knowledge is in your roots," is elegantly inscribed on the reverse.

This $20 face value coin features a repeating maple leaf field pattern on the obverse alongside the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
